Beijing, the capital of China, is both old and young.

With more than 3,000 years of history, Beijing is home to the largest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world.

In 2015, Beijing was selected to co-host the 2022 Winter Olympics with the city of Zhangjiakou, making it the first in the world to host both a summer and winter Olympics.

Driven by the Olympic Spirit, sports in Beijing have blossomed with great momentum: It hosts the Beijing Marathon and the Tour of Beijing cycling race, and many other tournaments.

The residents of Beijing take part in all manner of sports with immense passion, from Diabolo to Taichi, from jogging to cycling, plus winter sports. No matter what the season is, they always find time for sports.

Not only is a historic city with rich culture, Beijing also a modern city of sports.
