The 5th China Robotics Challenge, also called the China-US Robotics Challenge, kicked off in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province on July 21, 2018. 37 teams of high school students from China, the United State, Turkey, Israel and Poland participated in this two-day robotics match over the weekend, reported Shenzhen Daily.

According to the rules, the 37 teams were divided into alliances to operate the robots for defeating a "boss" and escaping a simulated arcade-game scene.

A team called Mulan drew a lot of attention from the audience. Mulan is China's first all-female robot team. Its members are between the ages of 14 and 18, according to information provided by the organizers.

In the end, the winners were students from Israel's Raanana & Aviv High School, Shenzhen High School of Science, and the No. 2 High School of East China Normal University. The runner-up team included Israel's Misgav Community High School, the United Team of Beijing High Schools, and Suzhou Education Association for International Exchange.
