True love can be found in the strangest of places, even at a funeral. The saying, "love knows no bounds" really applies here, as this couple's age gap is 53 years.

When Almeda was 71 years old, she met the person she proclaims is the love of her life at her own son's funeral. Almeda's son, Robert, died at the age of 45 after suffering a seizure. A mother and grandmother, Almeda's husband died some years before after they spent 43 years together.

The man she would marry, Gary Hardwick, was a 17-year-old who was invited to Robert's cremation service by his aunt Lisa, who is also Robert's widow. Gary, who now has a tattoo with Almeda's name written across his chest, believes he knew Almeda was the one, saying, "It was an instant thing for me… she had the most gorgeous, sparkling blue eyes."

After the couple were introduced, they married just a mere two weeks later.

Almeda, now 72, and Gary, now 19, seem to enjoy their relationship to the fullest despite their age gap.

Almeda describes her relationship with Gary as a "whirlwind." On her YouTube channel, Almeda reveals that the couple, "…are always complimenting and kissing. We're enjoying our relationship. When you meet the perfect one, that's when you don't want to lose that feeling," continuing, "The compliments, the hugs and the kisses… that's very romantic."

Speaking about her first marriage, Almeda reveals, "I was married for 43 years and there wasn't a lot of kissy, huggy stuff going on… no romance."

Almeda and Gary revealed that the first time they spent the night together was on their wedding night and described each other as "wonderful lovers".

"It was wonderful, beyond my wildest dreams. She really is my dream woman and the physical side of our relationship couldn't be better," Gary told the New York Post.

Recalling one of their first dates, Almeda revealed, "I just came out with it and said to him, 'Look, I'm 71 and you're 17. Am I too old for you?' He squeezed my hand, grinned and replied: 'Age is just a number.'"

Before meeting Almeda, Gary was in a relationship with a 77-year-old woman, but he was not content nor happy with his relationship, as he felt trapped during that time. They spent most of the time fighting, which led Gary to fall into depression.

Gary is thankful for Almeda, saying, "Almeda is so young at heart that age never bothers us, we never really think about it. I just know that God answered my prayers that day she walked into my life."

According to the couple, their relationship has been accepted by most friends and family, including Gary's mom, Tammy, 48, and his grandmother Carolyn, 71.

For those who have their doubts, Almeda offers some advice to others. She says they do little things every day to help each other out, as sometimes it's the little things that matter the most. Whenever Gary or Almeda cooks or washes the dishes, they always thank and complement each other. She says they are not sure tomorrow will come, so you must show your love every second and every day of your life.
