Photographer in L.A. captures chance encounter between dolphins and surfer

This undated photo shows a dolphin swimming close to a surfer at El Porto Beach, Los Angeles. These stunning photos taken by the photographer Dave Weldon show a male surfer paddling into the path of a pair of dolphins. Weldon caught the snaps earlier this year from the shore near his home in El Porto Beach, Los Angeles. "It all happened so fast. I had just finished photographing a surfer to my left, when out of the corner of my eye, something caught my attention over to my right," he said. "As quickly as I could swing around my camera, I barely realized what I was about to focus-lock onto before I fired-off a burst of shots capturing the dolphin and surfer's encounter." [Photo: IC]
