"Siri, call 911": Apple's assistant saves man from icy water

Gael Salcedo was driving his jeep to North Iowa Area Community College in Charles City, Iowa, on Tuesday when his car hit a patch of ice. According to a report by CNN, Salcedo skidded out of control and plummeted into the Winnebago River.

"I didn't know where I was going and then I just didn't know what to do. I was just thinking in my head, 'I think I'm going to die,'" Salcedo told a reporter.

Unable to find his phone and surrounded by icy water, Salcedo called out "Siri, call 911!"

Rescuers rushed to the scene and helped Salcedo out of the river. He was treated in hospital for shock and released after a few hours, according to KIMT.
