Man with metal detector finds a ring lost 50 years ago
A man using a metal detector on a Florida beach found a high school ring that another man lost nearly 50 years ago, reports AP.
Jerry Pope discovered the ring as he swept his metal detector across the sand on Melbourne Beach. The ring bore the initials "H" or "R" as well as the last initial, "B."
Jake White, a testing coordinator at Auburndale High, used the initials and the graduating year to find the ring's owner, Kenneth Board.
Board is a retired U.S. Postal Service worker. He says he couldn't have imagined that someone would have found his lost ring.
