AI set to drive development in China's catering industry
Artificial Intelligence looks set to be at the leading edge of new trends in the catering industry, according to participants at the 2018 Global Mobile Internet Conference in Beijing this week.
The conference, which had Artificial Intelligence (AI) as its main theme, included a discussion focused on the future of the catering industry. Attendees talked about the influence of AI on the industry, including new business models and likely future trends in an industry in China worth an estimated four trillion yuan.
Li Jian, a doctoral supervisor from Tsinghua University, said that AI is becoming increasingly relevant to the catering and retail industries, especially when it comes to selecting the locations for business, and providing delivery services.
In a speech at the conference, Liang Chuang, the founder and CEO of Business Opportunities Box, said that big data can drive the development of the food industry, pointing to work that his company had done in using new AI technology to more effectively link existing businesses with entrepreneurs.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Mobile Internet Conference. The conference brings together researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, and government officials to talk about the latest trends in the mobile technology industry.
