The Lily Cultural Festival in Yanqing kicked off in Beijing on July 13th. Over 2.7 million lily bulbs inhabited a garden of over 70,000 square meters. In just a few days, they will burst into a fresh field of flowers.

Located in Yanqing's World Grape Expo Garden, the Lily Cultural Festival opens to the public on July 15. The outdoor expo features ornamental lilies and many edible breeds of lily. The expo will also see 67 new breeds of lilies introduced. Together they will create a lily ocean. While the indoor exhibition focuses on lily culture, tourists can also absorb knowledge about lilies while enjoying the gorgeous spectacle in front of them. On the opening day, 1,500 participants will run along a path called "the happiest five kilometers".

Introduced by a leading official, the scenery features ornamental lily fields on both sides of the main trail, and four uniquely themed gardens. The indoor exhibition includes two galleries: The General Gallery presents scientific knowledge about lilies; will sell fresh-cut lilies and lily bulbs, offers weekly lectures, and hosts household lily decoration workshops.

The Culture Gallery introduces lilies' medicinal value, as well as creative artwork about lilies.

The Lily Cultural Festival also hosts various interactive events for visitors while they enjoy the lily fields and delicious sweet grapes. This summer, you won't want to miss out on this wonderful experience. The Festival will run until August 15th.
