"The trunk your mom packed" was a popular topic on social media in China on Wednesday as the week-long Chinese New Year holiday drew to a close, reports Beijing Youth Daily.

Many social media users posted pictures of their car trunks crammed with food by their mother as they left their hometowns for the cities where they live and work.

What have moms been gifting to their children? Photos from netizens show a variety of local products, including sausages, eggs, millet, fruits, and Chinese cabbages.

One Weibo user posted a photo of his car trunk stuffed with food along with words, "My mom thinks I might starve to death." Another joked that "Mom, I will drive a minibus home next year!"
