Industrialization forum draws Nobel laureates to Beijing

Six Nobel Prize winners, along with leading Chinese scientists, have gathered in Beijing for the first ever Cui Forum, which focuses on promoting the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, reports Chinanews.com.

The Nobel Prize winners have been quick to praise the important contribution China has been making in the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, according to the report.

Arthur B. McDonald, winner of the 2015 Nobel Prize for Physics, has delivered a keynote speech on Friday, noting in it that China had invested huge amount of money and resources in the study of quantum theory.

The Jinping underground Laboratory in Sichuan Province is currently the world's deepest and largest laboratory for the study of cosmic ray reflection. The laboratory has drawn the acclaim of Kip Stephen Thorne, one of the winners of the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physics.

Michael Levitt, one of the winners of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, has told the Cui Forum that China has entered a new era, saying he is lucky to witness the huge potential of so many young Chinese scientists.

Other Nobel Prize winners attending the forum include May-Britt Moser, Edvard Moser and Shuji Nakamura.

Dai Qionghai, professor at Tsinghua University and an academic with the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as other renowned Chinese scientists have also taken part in the forum.
