QR codes issued in China will soon have their own globally unique ID

China has founded its first QR code registration organization that will ensure that all of the codes issued in China have a unique global identifier, according to a report by CCTV News on Thursday.

The Unified QR Code Registration and Management Center, and since then all the two-dimensional codes issued in China are to have a global unique two-dimensional ID code,

The purpose of the Unified QR Code Registration and Management Center is to promote better cooperation by industry, which increasingly relies on the codes for digital payment services, stock management, and shipping.

Zhang Chao, the executive director of the new center, told reporter that they have already started providing services to global users of QR codes.
