Not too long ago, netizens have been talking about the so-called “greasy old men,” a term to characterize the middle-aged men who are out of shape and have little courtesy when dealing with people around them.

Even though many find this term a bit mean and offensive, this time’s heated discussion has still put Chinese middle-aged man in China under the spotlight. So today we are going to talk about men's dressing taste and menswear industry in China.

Here online joining us is Como Wang, the Chief Cultural Officer of Dandy King, a menswear selected shop located in Hangzhou, and aims to introduce European brands and garments to Chinese customers.

Questions discussed in the interview:

1. What do you think of the white vest and the string of beads preferred by some guys?

2. According to your observation, what do Chinese men prefer to wear these days? How do you think about their taste?

3. What can be called a good dressing taste? Is there any standard? And how is Chinese guys' dressing taste in general? What are some common mistakes when guys are dressing themselves up? What's your suggestion?

4. How does one's dressing and style have an influence on one's perception to themselves?

5. Why is menswear a big market now? Why Dandy King only focuses on Middle-aged man?

6. Many shops today like to claim that the design of their clothes is originated from some western countries. Why is the case? Considering different body figures, do western brands really fit Asian body features? What do the manufacturers need to do to attract the main consumers, especially those who were born in the 1980s and 1990s?

7. We can name a lot of clothing brands from western countries, not necessarily luxurious brands, for example, Banana Republic, Gap, HM, Zara and Mango. But we can hardly name a Chinese brand that's known worldwide. Why is the case?

8. How does AI technology help improve consumers’ shopping experience and how will it reshape consumer's shopping habits?

9. In the current fashion industry, there's an occupation called "buyers", who travel across countries to purchase clothes, shoes, accessories and so on. Can you tell us about this occupation? What's the niche of this occupation in the market?
