17 Chinese companies make Forbes' World's Top Regarded Companies

Various Chinese companies have been included in Forbes' first-ever list of the world's Top Regarded Companies.

Taiwan-based Asustek Computers has come in 26th on the list, followed next by Lenovo at 27th, while Chinese mainland-based COSCO Shipping came in 104th on the list.

These are among 17 Chinese companies which have made the Forbes list of Top Regarded Companies.

The list itself has been compiled from the opinions of 15,000 interviewees from 60 countries. All the selected companies were evaluated based on the criteria of trustworthiness, social conduct, the company's reputation as an employer and the performance of the company's products or services.

German conglomerate Siemens tops the list.

The company employs 351,000 people, generating $90 billion US dollars in sales and $6.4 billion US dollars in profits through 2016.

France-based Michelin came in the second. Alphabet, the parent company of Google, ranks third.

Corporations from the United States and Japan dominate the list, with 61 U.S. companies and 42 Japanese companies selected.

Eight U.S. companies are in the top 20, including Alphabet, Walt Disney, Apple, Hilton, Marriott International, Netflix, Microsoft and IBM.

Gaming giant Nintendo tops all Japanese companies, ranking fourth.

Vehicle manufacturers also hold predominant positions on Forbes' Top Regarded Companies list.

Italian sports car marker Ferrari came in 8th. Toyota came in 13th, while BMW came in 22nd on the list.
