China's mobile internet users reached 1.2 billion

As of the end of September, the number of the mobile phone users in China has reached 1.3 billion, up 72 million through the year, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.

The same stats show there are more than 900 million 4G users and nearly 150 million 3G users in the country.

In addition, the number of fixed-line telephone users has declined by over 9 million to 197 million.

The broadband sector has also developed rapidly over the past number of months.

By the end September, broadband access has increased by 40 million users to 330 million. The number of mobile internet users now stands at more than 1.2 billion.

The revenues for mobile communications networks is now a combined 262 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of over 89 percent.
