This is the first time that an overseas firm has been employed on a metro construction project in Russia. The CRCC will send four six-meter-diameter tunneling machines, and 500 workers and engineers, to work on the 362 million U.S. dollar project. The CRCC is expected to complete the project by 2019.

The project is part of Moscow's second-ring metro project, which will see a 62.3 kilometer long subway line with 28 metro stations circling the city. The new line is expected to open in 2020.
