FedEx apologizes for diverting Huawei parcels
FedEx China has apologized on its Chinese social media account for mistakenly diverting several parcels for Huawei. This, after the Chinese telecom giant publicly stated it was reviewing its relationship with the U.S. express company after discovering it diverted two packages, reports Reuters.

The two parcels addressed to Huawei from Japan were diverted to the United States. Huawei also claims FedEx also attempted to reroute two more parcels sent from Vietnam to Huawei offices elsewhere in Asia without authorization.
"The recent experiences where important commercial documents sent via FedEx were not delivered to their destination, and instead were either diverted to, or were requested to be diverted to, FedEx in the United States, undermines our confidence," said Joe Kelly, a spokesman for Huawei. "We will now have to review our logistics and document delivery support requirements as a direct result of these incidents," he added.

In response, FedEx claims the packages were "misrouted in error" with no requests from any other party involved. "This is an isolated issue limited to a very small number of packages," FedEx told Reuters, adding it will work with its consumers to "return the packages to their possession."
The U.S. Department of Commerce did not reply to a request for comment on whether the incident might be related to its move on May 16, 2019 to add Huawei to its "Entity List," which prevents Huawei from buying certain items from U.S. companies without U.S. government approval.
