Huawei certified to make maps for self-driving vehicles
Huawei has obtained the highest level of certification in making digital maps for navigation as the tech giant is planning to tap into the market of self-driving vehicles, reports ithome.com.
The class-A certificate allows Huawei to conduct research and development on high-definition maps for self-driving vehicles in China, according to the report.

Huawei joins in other 19 enterprises and institutions in China that have obtained the highest level mapping qualification so far.
Earlier, Huawei has reportedly reached cooperation deals with multiple automobile enterprises, including Audi, GAC TOYOTA, BAIC BJEV, CHANGAN, etc.
Huawei is expected to supply AI technologies to self-driving automobiles, which could be launched as early as 2021.
