A-shares weighting set to be raised
Three leading global index compilers are raising the weighting of Chinese A-shares in their global indices.
This is estimated to bring additional funds of over 36 billion US dollars into the A-share markets.
MSCI has increased the inclusion factor for A-shares from 10 percent to 15 percent in its global benchmarks as of the close yesterday.
Another index provider FTSE Russell has also lifted the inclusion factor for A-shares to 15 percent from 5 percent.
Meanwhile, S&P Dow Jones Indices will include A-shares in its global benchmarks late next month.
