"Big day of negotiations with China. They want to make a deal, but do I? I meet with the vice premier tomorrow at The White House," Trump tweeted on Thursday, shortly after China's top trade negotiator met with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin at the Office of the United States Trade Representative.

Liu He also met with U.S. business leaders and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief in Washington on Wednesday.
