At least ten people have died with another 14 hospitalized in a hotel fire that broke out on Saturday morning in Nanchang, Jiangxi province.
Nine of those injured have been discharged from hospital after being examined by doctors.
The fire has now been put out, with over 260 people evacuated from the building, according to local authorities.
Seven related to the incident were detained by police, say local authorities.
Preliminary investigations found that the fire was caused by cutting renovation materials.
More than 10 workers were involved in a renovation project on the second floor of the hotel when the fire broke out.
The four-story hotel is connected to a 24-story apartment building.
