For 12 years in a row, thousands of birds have migrated to spend their winter in Lipo village in Wuchuan, south China's Guangdong province.
Each year, the spectacular sight of the birds flying in unison attracts thousands of visitors.
The migratory birds stay in a coconut grove in the village, with the majority of them belonging to the species of red-billed starling, according to CGTN.
In order to protect these birds, the villagers have given up the custom of netting birds and have set up a voluntary team to patrol the forest.
They say they now regard the birds as mascots.
