Who are the people behind the CPPCC and what are they doing? China’s top advisory body, the CPPCC, is made up of a number of professionals and academics. One of the members is Aikebaier Mijiti. As an author from Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Standing VP of film and television committee of China’s Writers Association, his proposals focus on ethnic inclusivity through translations, a more flexible tax scheme for authors and artists, wellness for military veterans, and the increased protection of intellectual property rights.

China’s top two political meetings, commonly called the ‘Two Sessions’, are now underway.  The ‘Two Sessions’ is an annual national assembly where both the top advisory body (CPPCC) and the top legislative body (NPC) meet to discuss the future of China.  Little Big China’s ‘Two Sessions” special takes you to the people behind the proposals and motions, and how they contribute to the development of China’s future.
