Xi: Vision of Belt and Road Initiative becomes a reality and bears rich fruit

President Xi Jinping said that against the background that humankind has reached an age of great progress, great transformation and profound changes, the trend toward peace and development becomes stronger and reform and innovation are gaining momentum.

According to President Xi, China has found itself in a world fraught with challenges. He said global growth requires new drives, development needs to be more inclusive and balanced. 

In the autumn of 2013, President Xi proposed the building of the Belt and Road Initiative in Kazakhstan and Indonesia respectively. Four years on, over 100 countries and international organizations have supported and got involved in this initiative. Important resolutions passed by the UN General Assembly and Security Council contain reference to it. The vision of the Belt and Road Initiative is becoming a reality and bearing rich fruit, according to President Xi.
