National college entrance exam starts

Maotanchang High School in Lu'an City, east China's Anhui province, is also called "the factory of Gaokao" for its dedication to the country's college entrance exam.

The exam or Gaokao is the extremely competitive in China. This year, a total of 9.4 million high school students sits in the two-day exam. Some 3.72 million are expected to enroll in a university.
