Chinese and Russian commanders have conducted a simulation exercise for the ongoing joint military drills in the Baltic Sea.

Sunday's exercise simulated details of various drills such as air defense, joint landing and maritime search and rescue.

The joint exercises kicked off on Saturday and will last until Friday.

The drills are designed to improve the two navies' capabilities in carrying out joint rescue missions and ensuring maritime economic activities.

As part of the joint exercises, both sides will attend the parade in St. Petersburg to mark Russia's Navy Day on Thursday.
