Brazilian Secretary of Commerce and Services Marcelo Maia says that e-commerce is set to become a major highlight in service trade between China and Brazil after the two countries signed an agreement to boost cooperation in the area.

"Doing this agreement with China, we can integrate the markets; not only the Brazilian companies to look for the Chinese market, but also for the small and medium companies in China to look for the Brazilian market," said Marcelo Maia.

The commerce and services secretary also says easy means of payment are crucial to facilitate e-commerce service between the two countries.

According to a Two-Year Action Plan signed on the sidelines of the 7th BRICS Trade Ministers' meeting in Shanghai, China and Brazil agreed to improve service trade in eight areas, including engineering, architecture, e-commerce, banking automation and tourism.
