Xi Jinping elected general secretary of CPC Central Committee, chairman of CPC Central Military Commission

Xi Jinping was elected general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee for the second term at the first plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee on Wednesday.
Members of the newly elected Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the 19th CPC Central Committee are Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, Li Zhanshu, Wang Yang, Wang Huning, Zhao Leji and Han Zheng.

Xi Jinping was also named chairman of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Military Commission (CMC) on Wednesday at the first plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee.
Xu Qiliang and Zhang Youxia were named vice chairmen of the CMC.
Zhao Leji was elected secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday.
Zhao was elected at a plenary session of the CCDI, at which the CCDI also elected its deputy secretaries and Standing Committee members.
The first plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee approved the elections Wednesday.
