Forbidden City screens VR 4D immersive film
The Forbidden City, officially called the Palace Museum, has recently screened a film using VR technology that allows visitors to feel as if they're walking into the famous landmark during ancient times, reports People's Daily.

Wearing a VR helmet in a moving seat, visitors can follow the Emperor of from the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Di, who oversaw Forbidden City construction, to go across the palace and listen to stories about Chinese astrology and rituals involved in its architecture and construction.
This seven-minute VR film is said to be the pioneer of China's emerging VR industry in museums, according to experts.
VR is, at present, generally used in entertainment, said a technique worker involved in the VR film screening. "Here we connect VR with cultural innovation to help visitors enjoy an overall view of the Palace Museum through vision, sound and movement."
The Palace Museum also plans to use AR (augmented reality) technology to make the tour within the museum more vivid.
