The Chinese air force launched its "Red Sword-2017" drills at the end of November in northwest China, reports the People's Daily.
The drills included aircraft, missiles, radar systems and other forces from two air defense bases.
This year's drills included more actual battle environments, new drill content, and an evaluation system to strengthen scouting and alarm response, air assault capabilities, and other operations.
