The man, who doesn't want to be named, says he was prohibited from driving on that day due to license plate restrictions, so he decided to find an alternate form of transportation - his horse.

He claims this is the second time he's ridden his horse to collect his 4-year-old son from school.

An officer with the municipal traffic bureau in Xianyang says there are no rules against riding a horse on the roads in the city.

However, authorities are warning against the move, noting the horse could be easily spooked by traffic sounds, potentially making it unsafe for both the father and his son.
