Chinese Ambassador to the US Cui Tiankai said on Wednesday in New York that U.S. and China should joint efforts to respond to common challenges.
When talking about so-called trade imbalances between China and the U.S., Ambassador Cui said: Trade by nature is mutually beneficial. Imbalances not only exist between countries, in terms of international trade.
They also exist within national boarders, in terms of disparities of income. Domestic imbalances will not disappear by putting the blame on other countries.
Ask not what others can do for you to solve your problems. Ask what we can do together to respond to the common challenges.
On some doubts about the achievements of China-U.S. relations over the past decades, Ambassador Cui said: Nothing is sillier than questioning one’s own success. Nothing is more harmful than denying the huge potential and great prospects of building a strong and mutually beneficial relationship between China and the United States.
Ambassador Cui Tiankai is among a group of VIP guests to attend the China General Chamber of Commerce –USA (CGCC) Chinese Lunar New Year of Dog Gala in New York on Jan 17th.
