Xing Kai, 33, who has cerebral palsy and lives on a basic living allowance of just 1,000 yuan a month, has transported local disabled people for free for about 12 years, no matter how bad the weather conditions.
On Wednesday afternoon, Xing drove the motorized tricycle he bought for 10,000 yuan (1,565 US dollars) to Zhuquemen to pick up his three disabled friends, whom he had transported from a Hongqi factory in the morning.
"I have taken his tricycle more than 100 times, and he has always refused my money," said one of the men, surnamed Zhao.
"I didn't expect it would start to snow this afternoon and asked Xing not to come to collect us, but he insisted on coming," he added.

Zhao said that he has known Xing for many years. After realizing the difficulty disabled people have in moving around, Xing started to transport them for free. Over the years, Xing has helped several hundred disabled friends. He comes to help whenever he is available and has never taken any money.
"He has probably transported disabled people more than 10,000 times over the years," said Zhao.
Suffering from congenital cerebral palsy, Xing cannot speak clearly and has difficulties using both his hands and feet, although, he still believes he's luckier than those disabled people in wheelchairs or on crutches.
Since 2006, Xing has been voluntarily transporting disabled friends for free. Over the years, he has bought several motor tricycles.
"The mileage on my last tricycle was about 100,000 kilometers within two years," said Xing.
Unable to get a job, Xing lives on a basic living allowance of 1,000 yuan given by the government on a monthly basis. However, his difficult life has not scared him away from doing volunteer work.
Xing said that helping disabled people helps him make more friends, and he will continue to do this volunteer work and be a helpful person.
In addition to being a volunteer, Xing also has a dream of taking part in China's National Paralympic Games, and he works toward this every day.
