Su was also former deputy secretary of the Communist Party of China Fujian Provincial Committee and former general manager of Sinopec, China's leading oil company.

The indictment document was delivered to the Second Intermediate People's Court of Shanghai by the second branch of the Shanghai People's Procuratorate, the SPP said in a statement.

Su took advantage of his posts to seek profits for others and accepted a huge amount of property, according to the statement.

As former general manager of Sinopec, Su was accused of having abused his power when purchasing oil fields, causing great losses to national interests, it said.
