China's fifth peacekeeping police force to Liberia has been awarded that country's National Award for their service by Liberian President George Weah.

The peacekeeping group was formed from officers of the Guangxi border police force. They have been engaging in protection, emergency response, and joint patrols since March last year. They conducted over 730 patrols during their year-long assignment.

Xinhua reports that the 110 peacekeepers were greeted by relatives and supporters at Nanning Wuxu International Airport in Guangxi province as they returned home after their mission ended on March 1.

The peacekeeping force was awarded the United Nation's Peace Medal of Honor in November 2017.
