Introduction to 24 vice chairpersons of 13th CPPCC National Committee

A total of 24 people were elected vice chairpersons of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at a plenary meeting of its first session on Wednesday.

The following is a brief introduction to them:

Zhang Qingli, born in January 1951, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He was vice chairman and the secretary-general of the 12th CPPCC National Committee. He was a member of the 16th, 17th, 18th CPC central committees.

Liu Qibao, born in January 1953, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He was an alternate member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and a member of the 17th and 18th CPC central committees. He was a member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee from 2012 to 2017.

Pagbalha Geleg Namgyai, an ethnic Tibetan born in February 1940, is honorary president of the Buddhist Association of China, and chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPPCC. He was vice chairman of 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th and 12th CPPCC national committees.

Tung Chee-hwa, born in May 1937, was former chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He was elected vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee at the Third Session of the 10th CPPCC National Committee, and was re-elected vice chairman of the 11th and 12th CPPCC national committees.

Wan Gang, born in August 1952, is chairman of the Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party, science and technology minister, and chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology. He was vice chairman of the 11th and 12th CPPCC national committees.

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, born in March 1955, was vice chairman of the 11th and 12th CPPCC national committees. He was former chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region.

Lu Zhangong, born in May 1952, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He was vice chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

Wang Zhengwei, an ethnic Hui born in June 1957, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He was vice chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

Ma Biao, an ethnic Zhuang born in August 1954, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He was vice chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

Chen Xiaoguang, born in May 1955, is executive vice chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League. He was vice chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

Leung Chun-ying, born in August 1954, was former Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He was vice chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

Xia Baolong, born in December 1952, is secretary-general of the 13th CPPCC National Committee. He was former secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee.

Yang Chuantang, born in May 1954, is the Party secretary of the Ministry of Transport.

Li Bin, female, born in October 1954, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee and minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission.

Bater, an ethnic Mongolian born in February 1955, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee, chief of State Ethnic Affairs Commission and deputy head of United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee.

Wang Yongqing, born in September 1959, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee, secretary-general of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee and deputy secretary-general of the State Council.

He Lifeng, born in February 1955, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee and head of the National Development and Reform Commission.

Su Hui, female, born in May 1956, is chairperson of the central committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League.

Zheng Jianbang, born in January 1957, is executive vice chairman of the central committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang and vice chairman of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

Gu Shengzu, born in January 1956, is executive vice chairman of the Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association.

Liu Xincheng, born in March 1952, is executive vice chairman of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy.

He Wei, born in December 1955, is executive vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party.

Shao Hong, born in November 1957, is executive vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society.

Gao Yunlong, born in December 1958, is chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.
