Technology in everyday life: New energy cars making China greener
New energy vehicles, or NEVs, are vehicles powered by batteries, hybrid engines, or fuel-cells.
A total of 777,000 new energy vehicles were sold in the Chinese market last year, up 53.3 percent year on year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
China's stock of NEV is also the world's largest, with 1.53 million being driven in the country.
