The United States, France, and Britain launched air strikes against Syria on Friday evening local time. The strikes didn't affect the area around China's Embassy in the Syrian capital Damascus.

All embassy personnel are safe and inside the embassy compound, according to Ma Xuliang, a counselor at the embassy. Ma says that after the strikes, the embassy made contact with all 83 Chinese nationals in Syria, and that the embassy has made plans to cope with the developing situation.
