5G services being trialed in Beijing park

Yuyuantan Park in western Beijing has become the latest test site for 5G technology, reports YNET.com.

5G services, provided by Huawei, have been activated at the park to test connection speeds and help park staff process visitors and transactions more quickly during the Cherry Blossom Cultural Festival this week.

Yuyuantan, located just north of the CCTV Tower in western Beijing, is noted for its cherry trees, which are said to be in full blossom thanks to the recent uptick in temperatures in the capital.

Beijing's Park Administration Center says the 5G services are providing faster online ticket purchases, faster QR code scanning for in-park purchases, as well as with security.

Thirty-one high-resolution AI cameras installed around Yuyuantan Park are now running on the 5G test network.
