Vice Premier Liu He has recently held multiple rounds of talks on trade with the American side by phone. Some progress has been made but a great deal of work remains to be done, according to Commerce Ministry spokesman Gao Feng.
The vice premier will visit Washington next week to attend the ninth round of China-U.S. high-level trade consultations, said Gao.
"China believes that cooperation is the best option for the two nations, as it benefits not only the two countries and their people, but also the whole world," Gao added.
