China Media Group releases new series on Asian civilizations

China Media Group has released a high definition, three-episode documentary on the history and evolution of Asian civilizations ahead of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations in Beijing.
"Asia and the Lights of Civilization" vividly tells the story of how the region's long-standing civilizations have co-existed and learned from each other.

A camera crew from China Media Group traveled through 22 countries and regions capturing 4K ultra-high definition video of iconic spots including Ao Dai in Vietnam, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and Petra in Jordan.
And the latest in animation technology allowed for ancient scenes, like the sight of the irrigation methods used thousands of years ago, to come alive again on the screen.

The series was made with the support of academics around China, allowing it to fill a gap in the availability of contemporary scholarly documentaries that use a wide lens to study Asian civilizations.
Staring from May 12, the documentary will be aired on CCTV-1, CCTV-4, and CGTN. It will also be released across China Media Group's multimedia platforms.
