CMG inaugurates workroom for commentaries with Russian newspaper

China Media Group and Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper of Russia have jointly inaugurated a China-Russia commentary workroom in Moscow.

They will launch commentary programs under the framework of the workroom, and jointly plan articles related to major issues and events concerning the China-Russia relationship such as visits paid to each other by both leaders, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the Eurasian Economic Union. The commentaries will give an insight into the future trend of the development of the China-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Coordinative Partnership, and focus on new progress made through bilateral cooperation. The articles will be published on Rossiyskaka Gazeta's printed newspaper copies and its official website.

President Shen Haixiong of China Media Group and General Director Pavel Negoits of Rossiyskaya Gazeta attended the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday.Shen said the inauguration of the workroom is a new attempt to enhance the role of Chinese and Russian media in guiding the public opinion.He said that media from both sides can seize the opportunity and deepen all-round cooperation so that fair, just and true voices can be transmitted further and broader, making contributions to the development of Sino-Russian ties and the friendship between the two peoples.

Negoitsa said the inauguration of the workroom marks a further step for China-Russia media cooperation.He said that both sides will continue to upgrade their cooperation by making good use of new media and technologies.

A special edition of a journal marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Russia was also issued at the ceremony, the first collaboration of the China-Russia commentary workroom.
