The panda, which has heart-shaped eyes and a red T-shirt, will be at the forefront of the promotion of pandas to people around the world.
The first A Pu product is a bag that was released at a charity bazaar during the animation exhibition in Osaka. Donations from its sale will be used to support the protection of the habitat of the giant panda.
A Pu, which is pronounced similar to "up", will be widely promoted as the official icon of China's giant pandas through cooperation with entertainment and sports companies.
