School ordered to stop using head rings to monitor students

Education authorities in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province have ordered the suspension of the use of a controversial electric head ring in a local elementary school, reports the Beijing News.

It is claimed that the electric head rings are able of monitor the brain activities of the students so that the teachers know if the students are concentrating in classes, according to the report.

However, people have questioned if the head ring could have side effects and whether the privacy of the students could be exposed.

In response, the Xiaoshun Village Central Elemental School claimed that the head rings were only used by one class and no side effects have been found.

Educational officials with Jindong District noted that the data collected by the head rings were only used in the school.

Despite this, it's been advised by educational experts that specific standards should be set up to strengthen the management of the usage of the electronic devices in schools, according to the Beijing News report.
