A fireworks show accompanied a performance by artists in Qingdao to welcome attendees of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit on Saturday.

This weekend's SCO summit is attended by the leaders of the SCO Member and Observer states, as well as the leaders of a variety of international organizations.

The show, called "Friends from Afar", has been directed by famed Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou. After half a year of preparation, the show will provide audiences with a better understanding of the nature of Qingdao, the style of Shandong, and the grace of China.
