It is the first time in Austrian history that the two highest leaders have visited another country together.

The delegation will also include four ministers, head of the Chamber of Commerce, 170 entrepreneurs and dozens of representatives in the fields of science and culture.

Van der Bellen said he hoped the two sides could sign various agreements on economy, science, culture and environmental protection and China can benefit from Austria's advanced technology in environmental protection and urban planning, according to the Kronen Zeitung.

Sebastian Kurz, the world's youngest head of government, said China is a country with great potential, noting that more than 900 Austrian companies are doing business in China. He is expected to talk about Austria's involvement in the Belt and Road Initiative during the visit.

The delegation will visit Beijing, Chengdu and attend the Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan Province, said the report.
