President Xi made the remarks while visiting an exhibition on southern Guangdong Province's development over the past 40 years of reform and opening-up, at a museum in Shenzhen, Guangdong.
Xi said this year marks the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up policy, and China has made remarkable achievements in that time.
Though there are difficulties and problems, we must overcome them and solve them, said Xi.
We must firmly follow the path of reform and opening-up and explore for deeper and broader areas, he added.
Xi also inspected Shenzhen's Qianhai Pilot Free Trade Zone and Shekou Area the same day.
Hailing the development in the area, Xi said the development model is feasible and more replicable and propagable experiences should be figured out and promoted to the whole country.
The successful experience of Shenzhen, Zhuhai and other special economic zones must be continuously improved, Xi stressed.
The practice has proven that reform and opening-up is the right road, Xi noted, adding that "as long as we are persistent and consistent, we will inevitably make greater miracles."
