Li said China is willing to strengthen the aligning of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with Malaysia's development strategy, and encourage well-established and capable Chinese enterprises to invest in Malaysia.

The Chinese market welcomes more quality agricultural products from Malaysia, said Li, adding that China is ready to make continued efforts to deepen regional cooperation with ASEAN countries, including Malaysia, especially in expediting the negotiation on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement.

Mahathir said Malaysia supports the BRI and welcomes investments from Chinese companies.

Malaysia is willing to cooperate with China in economy, technology, agriculture and other areas, he said.

After the meeting, they witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation documents.
