Chinese Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Geng Shuang said on Monday that the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's words about Huawei and other Chinese companies during the interview with Swiss media are full of lies and fallacies.

Pompeo said earlier that it is difficult for Chinese companies to ensure information security. Cooperation with Chinese companies is equivalent to cooperating with the Chinese government. As long as Huawei communication technology is used, privacy and data protection cannot be guaranteed.

Geng noted that the U.S. claims that Huawei and other Chinese companies have security risks, but they have not provided any evidence about it from beginning to end.

"We have said many times that the U.S. side is using a state machine to suppress Chinese private enterprise such as Huawei, which is unethical and disgraceful," Geng said.

Geng added that Chinese companies are holding their own, even under American pressure. According to the information from the company's website, as of June 6, Huawei has obtained 46 5G commercial contracts in 30 countries around the world, including countries affiliated with the United States, which is currently seeking to ban the firm.
