China's president arrives in Osaka for G20 summit

China's President Xi Jinping arrived in the Japanese city of Osaka on Thursday to attend the 14th Group of 20 (G20) summit from June 27 to 29, at the invitation of Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

This is the seventh time President Xi has attended a G20 summit.

According to the agenda released by China's Foreign Ministry, President Xi will attend the plenary meetings at the summit to discuss the global economy and trade, the digital economy, inclusive and sustainable development, infrastructure, and climate change with other world leaders.

He will also attend an informal meeting of BRICS leaders, a meeting between the leaders of China, Russia, and India, and a small-scale meeting with leaders of African countries.

President Xi is also due to hold talks with the leaders of several countries regarding bilateral issues, including a meeting with United States President Donald Trump.
