Chinese top legislator meets Pakistan PM
Chinese top legislator Li Zhanshu met with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in Beijing Wednesday.
Li, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), said China-Pakistan relations are not only in line with both countries' fundamental interests but also beneficial to international and regional peace and stability.
Li said China-Pakistan ties have always been a priority of China's diplomacy and China firmly supports Pakistan's efforts to promote national construction.

He said the NPC is ready to work with Pakistan's parliament to enhance friendly exchanges at various levels, carry out exchanges and mutual learning, create favorable legal environment for high quality joint construction of the Belt and Road, and provide strong support for building a closer China-Pakistan community of shared future in the new era.
Khan extended warm congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and applauded China's huge economic achievements. He said Pakistan hopes to learn from China's successful experience and enhance bilateral pragmatic cooperation in various fields.
Pakistan is ready to work with China to promote the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, Khan said.
